In September 2018, the Council for Watershed Health and LA Sanitation will host the State of the Watershed Symposium and convene elected officials, non-profit organizations, community-based organizations, academics, agency scientists, and land managers to identify actionable next steps for creating a healthy and resilient watershed. At the 2013 Symposium, Mayor Garcetti welcomed more than 200 participants to learn about the health of the LA River Watershed and shared his vision for a revitalized LA River. The 2018 Symposium will reflect on what we’ve accomplished, the important work that remains, and focus on fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders in achieving shared goals.
