The UCLAX ASLA Student Chapter is pleased to announce a virtual office visit with Terremoto Landscape Architects on Tuesday, February 2nd, from 5-6 pm. We will be joined by founders David Godshall and Alain Peauroi, as well as Principal Jenny Jones. Terremoto Landscape Architects is a California-based design studio with offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Through the exploration of form and challenging of historical and contemporary conventions, the firm responds to each site’s unique opportunities and constraints. Their design approach has been described as “post-internet, critically-regionalist, and respectfully inflammatory.”
Our virtual firm visit will delve into their philosophies towards residential and public projects then we will follow with a brief Q & A session. Please send questions to your SCASLA board in advance.
Don’t forget to peruse the website beforehand! http://terremoto.la/
Explore provocative projects such as Forest Paths or Manolo Court/R.M. Schindler vs. Terremoto.
Their residential projects like Nicasio and Westerly Terrace are splendid. Public spaces such as Platform Park and Garden Hall Elementary School are also worth examining.
This is the second joint program of the four So Cal SCASLA Chapters. Please join fellow students from Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, USC and UCLA Extension.
