Learn how to read the land through the lens of water. Explore watershed thinking, site analysis, living soils, rain garden design, infiltration basins, overflow systems, and the principles of slowing, spreading, and sinking rainwater into the landscape.

Observing the Rain Garden Build
Step behind the scenes of a professional rain garden installation. Observe construction techniques, materials, grading, planting, and finishing details while participating in select portions of the installation under the guidance of the design and construction team.
This is more than a lecture—and it isn’t a traditional “how-to.”
This isn’t about copying a design. It’s about learning to see a landscape differently.
It’s an opportunity to experience how we’ve designed and built rainwater harvesting systems that work with Nature, and to discover how these same principles can inspire projects in your own landscape and community.
Participants will leave with:
- A practical understanding of rain garden design and function
• Greater confidence evaluating opportunities on their own property
• A framework for small-scale water harvesting projects
• Strategies for healthier soils and resilient landscapes
• A field journal, pen, and practice site plan to continue learning
