ASLA has selected Torey Carter-Conneen as our new chief executive officer.

We’re beyond excited to have Torey coming on board on August 31. Torey’s selection marks the culmination of a year-long process that collected input from the ASLA Team in Washington, leaders from partnered and allied organizations, various stakeholders throughout the industry, and all of you – our dedicated members.

Torey brings with him nearly 25 years of strategic organizational development and leadership. He has a proven track record as an innovator and thought leader, with an aptitude for pioneering strategies to shape organizational priorities, ensure financial stability, and invigorate member recruitment and retention programs.

ASLA is going through a time of change – not only within the Society, but in coping with a changing world around us. Torey will bring a fresh perspective and energy to the Society that will help forge a new path in the face of challenges such as the climate crisis, racial injustice, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Torey is the right person, at the right time, to propel the Society and the landscape architecture profession to our place as leaders in the design world.
