Planting Designer

GroundLevel is an established, design-focused, landscape architecture firm with offices in San Diego and Rancho Santa Fe that offers a collaborative design environment with unique and enthusiastic studio atmospheres.  We are seeking a landscape designer with 10-20 years of experience with a specific interest in planting design for an immediate, full-time position.  Candidates must be driven, passionate about their work, and excited about collaborating with a team.

Required skills and experience include the following:

• A true passion and enthusiasm for planting design.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• A well-rounded foundation in horticulture and soil science.
• A comprehensive knowledge of Southern California plant materials, both native and adaptive.
• A strong design aesthetic relating to the combination of plant species and the layering of landscape materials.
• An ability to design landscapes at varying scales – from small residential gardens to large scale commercial campuses.
• The willingness and ability to be nimble in a fast-paced design environment.

Undergraduate degree in horticulture or landscape architecture or an associates degree in landscape design with a preferred minimum of 10 years of experience in a design or design-build firm.

Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
