The ASLA SoCal Chapter would like to extend our sincere condolences to the friends, family and colleagues of Grisol Ramirez. We are extremely saddened by the news that we have lost such a wonderful, and talented woman so early in her life. Grisol was a recent graduate of Cal Poly Pomona Landscape Architecture where she excelled in the program. She was most recently working at Walt Disney Imagineering.
Upon embarking on her major, Grisol learned and gained a set of skills that challenged her as a designer.
As a fourth year student at Cal Poly Pomona she designed in a variety of ways to help her better understand and experiment with new ways of gathering and enhancing spaces. She believed that landscape architecture is the answer to the challenges in spaces that are not used significantly, whether it be within boundaries, spaces or corners. Believing there was so much to learn, Grisol understood the only way to become a good designer was to always have an open mind and maintain a set of skills which would help her design better spaces for the future. With an open mind and utilizing her skills to continue learning, she dreamed of working in a creative work environment and working as part of a team leading the design process bringing new ideas of how landscape architecture can make an impact.
Grisol Ramirez came from a small poverty town where ongoing crimes happen and poverty is the highlight of the city. Growing up she always wanted to focus on a career that could enhance spaces, especially living communities that suffered an identity and safe spaces. This is why Grisol chose the field of landscape architecture.
As news or any service becomes available, we will share it on our website and social media.
